What is HRA?

Human Rights Ahead is a laboratory of ideas working across social justice issues to advance preventive advocacy to fulfill human rights for all.

HRA"s role in the human rights field is to be a facilitator, strategist and knowledge-broker.
  • We produce rigorous, strategic and forward-looking analysis of the human rights implications of selected global challenges and it will support NGO efforts aimed at developing similar reflections.
  • We facilitate dialogue and reflection within the human rights field on the longer-term challenges for human rights;
  • We engage in productive exchange on these issues between human rights practitioners and others coming from related fields.
  • We chart human rights debates and interventions in selected areas and select methods for productive and interdisciplinary exchange, translating the findings into resources to advance human rights advocacy and policy in these areas.
  • We provide systematic information and tools on cutting edge strategies and innovative methods to tackle the local impact of global issues: mapping best practices, generating trends analysis, case studies, organizing scenario-building processes among other tools.
  • We provide a forum for innovative voices in the human rights field.
